MAN HIT BY BEANS THROWN BY OFFICER

Bay County sheriff's Maj. Jimmy Stanford snuck up on a suspect armed with a hammer and hit him in the back with two cans of beans he grabbed from the shelf in order to distract him so Sheriff Tommy Ford, Chief Deputy Joel Heape and Deputy Austin Thomas could take him down without serious injury. The call came in as a man armed with a gun who had shot someone and Ford, Heape and Stanford happened to be nearby and were the first to arrive on the scene Thursday. The deputy chucked a can of Bush’s Baked Beans at the suspect, and then a second can. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested
