Backstreet Boys Surprise Fans with an Elevator Serenade

Back in the day, the Backstreet Boys’ appeared countless times on MTV’s Total Request Live. On Thursday, the group returned to TRL and surprised employees of MTV and parent company Viacom with an elevator serenade.

Thursday morning’s edition of TRL aired the segment, which showed the employees – mostly young women – getting onto an elevator with Backstreet’s Brian Littrell. As the elevator stops on more floors, the other group members get in, until all five are there, along with some very surprised employees.

Then, the Boys proceed to get the employees to join them in a sing-along to “I Want It That Way,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and “As Long as You Love Me.”

Meanwhile, the Backstreet Boys danced it out while hitting the stage as the musical guests on Friday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The guys – Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean and Brian Litrell – performed their latest single “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” their first new single in five years.

Also during the episode, the Backstreet Boys joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots in performing a rendition of their smash hit song “I Want It That Way” just using classroom instruments.
