Ed Sheeran's plan to build a wedding chapel near his home is rejected

Ed Sheeran’s proposal to build a wedding chapel on the grounds of his U.K. home have been rejected by officials, according to the BBC. The singer had reportedly hoped to married fiancée Cherry Seaborn in a custom-built chapel on his estate in Dennington, Suffolk, but planning officials said the structure would cause “unsatisfactory visual impacts” and create “the impression of a second village church.” In his application for the building, Ed said the chapel would not be hired out and was only intended to be used by him. The proposal argued, “It is every person’s right to be able to have a place of retreat for contemplation and prayer, for religious observance, celebration of key life and family milestones, marriages, christenings and so forth.”
