A 20-year-old woman found her biological father by using Ancestry.com. In 2017, Laura Barnes wrote an email claiming to be the daughter of a complete stranger based solely on the site's DNA testing. The two began a conversation, with John Bennett quickly realizing Barnes was indeed his daughter, now a University of Alabama student living just 2.3 miles from his home in Tuscaloosa. According to Bennett, he'd never known that Barnes' biological mother was pregnant.
