Twelve members of a boys soccer team and their coach were found alive late Monday night (July 1st) by Thai Navy SEAL rescuers in a partially flooded cave in Thailand after being missing for 10 days. The search for the team, which had gotten trapped by flooding after going into the cave, had drawn international attention and assistance. Officials said Tuesday that the boys, who range in age from 11 to 16, and coach are mostly in stable medical condition and have been given high-protein liquid food, but that getting them out will be difficult. Experts have said that it might be safer to have them stay where they are and provide them with supplies for what could be some time until the flooding eases. Otherwise, they might have to be taught how to do cave diving, which would be difficult and dangerous.
