Alabama woman charged with a felony for leaving a dog in her hot car

It happened again. This time outside an Alabama Walmart.

A woman parked her car at 4am cracking the windows and leaving a bowl of water for her dog locked inside.

She returned to the car SEVEN HOURS LATER to find her dog unresponsive.

Concerned citizens gathered and did what they could but it took a police officer to break the window and lift the dog up and out of the car. He tried to save the dog but it was too late.

The officer said it's not good to leave ANY living thing inside a sweltering car.

Police are pursuing felony charges against the dog's owner.

The entire procedure was captured by Stacy Guthrie on her phone.
