How cool: a 96 year old girl scout gets her college degree!

A 96-year-old Pennsylvania woman finally received her college degree after pushing school aside to work for the Girl Scouts of America. More than 60 people filled the auditorium in the community center of Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville, to watch as Veronica "Ronnie" Backentstoe walked the stage dressed in her Girl Scouts uniform. Backenstoe, who joined the Girl Scouts in 1931 and remained active in the organization for 87 years, enrolled in classes at Cedar Crest College after World War Two, but her college career was cut short when she was asked by the Girl Scouts to move out west.
