The Rock visits the Georgia Aquarium and gets criticism online

posted by Mark Robertson -

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in hot water for some of his Georgia Aquarium pics. The star posted shots of himself and his family enjoying their time with sea creatures, writing that he was in awe of the whale sharks. He also gave the staff, who oversees 100K+ sea creatures a shout out, writing they were “gracious, kind & informativ," and adding, "we had a blast!”

Another post had him joking that he wanted to cast a beluga whale as his next co-star.

Users chimed in immediately, with one fuming, “This animal just needs to be back in the ocean!” while others told him to “stop spreading propaganda” on “animal abuse.”

Such a great time with our ohana & friends at the famed Georgia Aquarium. The second largest aquarium in the world and the only institution outside of Asia that houses Whale Sharks. More than 100,000 animals and sea creatures here that I’m in constant awe of. Specifically, this Whale Shark that I’m contemplating jumping in the tank and jumping on its back. They call me the brown 💪🏾🦈 AquaMan. Thank you to President & COO, Joseph Handy & the entire Georgia Aquarium staff for being so gracious, kind & informative to my family and our friends. We had a blast! #GeorgiaAquarium #OhanaDay @hhgarcia41 📸
