Kroger says they'll phase out plastic bags over the next few years

Plastic bags will be banned in Beaufort County starting this fall.

Plastic bags are also on their way out of Kroger stores. The nation's largest grocery chain says plastic bags will be completely phased out of its nearly 2,800 stores by 2025. Kroger Co. orders about six billion bags each year as of now, but will begin phasing out their use immediately at locations in Seattle, Washington. Kroger is seeking customer feedback and will be working with outside groups throughout the transition.
