BUSINESSMAN OFFERS FREE TUITION TO EVERY SENIOR IN WISCONSIN HIGH SCHOOL

A local businessman gave a big back-to-school surprise to the 34 seniors at Luck High School in Wisconsin, announcing that he'd pay for every graduating senior to attend a two-year technical college. Dennis Frendsen, who owns companies in the area and one of Luck's two banks, called last month to meet with the principal and school superintendent about the offer he wanted to make. Frendsen wanted to give the money to vocational college students because there are already a lot of scholarship opportunities for students going to four-year schools, and also because there is a shortage of skilled workers like electricians and plumbers.
