Kathy Wilkes- Myers saw a starving Rottweiler in the woods at the side of a country highway. She works for animals rescues and the moment she saw this dog she knew she was lost.

She told CBS News: “I could just tell right away she was somebody’s baby. She just didn’t act like a stray dog to me,”.

At the place where Kathy found the dog, she also saw some other things like toothbrushes, a comb and some other personal stuff. She took a photo of that, took the stuff from there and hoped she might know the story behind this. Turns out the dog, who wouldn't leave the crash site hoping his owners would return, found things thrown from the car after the accident so he would pick them up and bring them to where he was laying to provide comfort in the meantime.

Among this stuff she also found a candle with Michelle written in it and a notebook with car insurance information. Kathy called the agent hoping she would be able to know who the family of this dog is and so she did.

After an accident, Ella had jumped from the car and the rescue workers were not able to find her.

The Kelley family have been worried about the dog and mourned the loss of their pet, but Ella had actually survived. Fortunately, Ella has now been reunited with her family.
