Why this doorstop is worth $100,000

You never know what stuff you might have lying around your house that's actually worth a lot more than you might expect. The doorstop a Michigan man has been using since 1998 has been revealed to be a meteorite worth $100,000. The man, who has asked to remain anonymous, said when he bought the house in 1988, the previous owner showed him the rock and said it arrived on the farm during a meteor shower in the 1930s. Nobody thought the rock was worth much, until this year, when the unidentified man looked into it, and brought the rock to Central Michigan University, where a geology faculty member determined how special the rock really was. It hasn't been sold yet, but the Smithsonian Museum is considering buying it, as well as another collector.
