HALLOWEEN MEANS BAD EATING FOR DOGS

People aren’t the only ones in danger of packing on a few pounds from eating Halloween candy — dogs are in danger of consuming too many calories in the form of candy corn and candied apples. Halloween kicks off a season of bad eating for both humans and pets. Dogs pretty much like the same Halloween candy kids do, so they’ll be more than happy to eat a whole bag of candy if they happen upon a kid’s stash. There are also adults who think nothing of giving their pooch popcorn balls or candied apples left over from Halloween parties. Besides causing weight gain, Halloween candy can be dangerous for dogs, especially chocolate, which speeds up the heart rate.
