Idaho residents Rachel and Russell Keppner have their hands full with 13 children. Earlier this year, their lives got a little more difficult when Russell suffered a brain aneurysm. Russell ended up being hospitalized after emergency surgery, which left Rachel caring for all 13 kids. Rachel had previously been a stay-at-home mom, but things changed when her husband had his aneurysm. Luckily, Russell made it home for Christmas, but he and Rachel were still struggling. Although they were happy to have the whole family home for the holidays, they didn’t have a lot of spare money to spend on gifts. That’s when the East Idaho News website decided to step in. For years, East Idaho News has received money from a donor for ‘Secret Santa’ giveaways. This year, the donor gave the news outlet $250,000 to give to people in the community. The other day the ‘Secret Santa‘ team showed up at IHOP, where Rachel and her family were having breakfast, and they handed her a box. When Rachel opened the box, she was shocked to find a check for $5,000.
