9 year old donates his savings to charity inspired by You Tube videos

A concerned Illinois father had a change of heart about his son watching too many YouTube videos when the nine-year-old did something incredibly generous. Nathan Simons decided to take all the money out of his savings account and donate it to charity after watching others do it online. Simons' dad Ethan was skeptical at first, but soon realized it was important to teach his son to be selfless. Nathan called some homeless shelters in the area and decided to get some much-needed items for the Christian Care shelter in Rock Island. With Nathan's dad matching every dollar, the pair pulled out about $300 and bought shoes, barbecue sauce and hot sauce for the charity. The fourth-grader even had a little money left over to get some extra things not on the list so the people staying at Christian Care could celebrate the new year.
