"Rescue & Jessica" : the therapy dog with prosthetics (a children's book)

Dr. Herman Kensky is a new faculty member @ the Mercer University School of Medicine at Memorial. His daughter Jessica and his son in law both lost limbs at the Boston bombing. They have since written a children’s book that talks about a little girl with a therapy dog who has prosthetics. This is a wonderful book and on the NY Times best seller list!  It's called RESCUE AND JESSICA and it has a wonderful message not only for children but also those affected by trauma, those caring for and treating trauma survivors, those with disabilities, those treating and caring for those with disabilities, those who love dogs , etc.

Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes were married in 2012 and were injured during the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. Their service dog, Rescue, joined them several months later and inspired them to tell their story of healing and love.

This is a webcast from a Massachusetts school where they read the book aloud to the children and answered questions. They will also be in the Children's Tent at the Savannah Book Festival February 16, 2019.
