Prince Harry Reveals Special Way He's Preparing For The Royal Baby

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting ready to welcome their first child together. During a visit to Birkenhead, England on Monday (Jan. 15), the Duke and Duchess of Sussex happily talked about how they're preparing for the royal baby's arrival. While Meghan finally revealed her due date is in late April/early May, her husband spoke about a new hobby that's helping prepare for fatherhood.

During their outing, Harry reportedly spoke with a 69-year-old Buddhist monk named Kelsang Sonam, who gave the royal dad-to-be a copy of a book entitled 8 Steps to Happiness. Why this particular gift? Because Harry has recently adopted a daily meditation practice.

As People reports, this is likely inspired by his wife's own meditation practice. Before marrying into the royal family, Meghan wrote about her love of meditation on her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig:

Last week marked the one year anniversary of my relationship with meditation, something I found endlessly daunting at first (the thoughts, the distractions, the boredom of it), but soon became the quietude that rocked my world. I can’t put my finger on the why or the how, but I will tell you this much, for me…I am just happier. And meditation has much to do with that. I urge you to give it a shot. The worst thing that can happen is that you gave yourself ten minutes of quiet in an endlessly loud world. Shhhhh……it feels good.

Meghan has reportedly been a strong, positive influence on Harry, showing him how to live a healthier lifestyle. The Duchess has reportedly encouraged her husband to eat healthy, exercise, and even quit smoking. He's decided to go without coffee and alcohol, as well, while Meghan is pregnant. That's the kind of solidarity we like to see!
