For many people the idea of getting trapped in an elevator is their worst nightmare. A housekeeper who works at a billionaire's Upper East Side townhouse in New York City got trapped in it's elevator Friday (January 25th), and spent the whole weekend inside before she was rescued. Marites Fortaliza, age 53, got stuck in between the second and third floors of Warren Stephen's townhouse on East 65th Street while the homeowner was out of town. She was only rescued when a courier went to the home to make a delivery Monday morning (January 28th), found no one home and called the owners, who sent their daughter, and she realized the worker was trapped inside the broken-down elevator and called 9-1-1. Fortaliza was taken to the hospital and is said to be doing well. A spokesman for Stephens Inc. said in a statement (in part): "A Stephens family member accompanied her to the hospital this morning and remains at her side. The cause of this unfortunate incident is being investigated and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that something like this never happens again."
