A FURLOUGHED PARK RANGER HITS THE JACKPOT

A park ranger who was furloughed during the recent partial government shutdown probably didn't have to go back to work when it ended after hitting it big in the lottery. National Park Service employee Judith Smith bought the New Jersey Lottery's Pick 6 ticket on December 17, 2018, just days before the shutdown closed Fort Wadsworth recreation area in Staten Island, New York, where she worked. The ticket was worth $29.5 million dollars.
