Melania Trump says the media should do more to cover the opioid epidemic

First Lady Melania Trump has called on the news media to report more on the opioid epidemic and educate parents and children about it, instead of covering, quote, "idle gossip or trivial stories." Trump made the comments during a town hall-style discussion in Las Vegas about the epidemic, an event that closed the first lady's two-day, three-state promotional tour for her "Be Best" initiative, which includes a focus on babies that are born dependent on opioids. Trump also encouraged the public to look beyond the large numbers of the opioid epidemic and see the crisis as what she called a "human story."
