Florida neighborhood not getting mail because a gator is in a nearby pond


An alligator in a retention pond stopped mail from being delivered to a neighborhood in Winter Garden, Florida. Sixty-six residents didn’t receive mail for two days. The Postal Service said the safety and well-being of its employees is of “paramount importance” and that it has guidelines in place which address situations such as a threatening animal. The ‘gator is in a pond across the street from a grouping of mailboxes.
