Demi Lovato is singing at the Super Bowl LIV!

The “Sorry Not Sorry” musician will do the honors of delivering the national anthem at the highly-anticipated sports event taking place at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on February 2, the NFL and FOX announced early Thursday morning (January 16). The singer-songwriter also celebrated the exciting news on Instagram, writing, “Singing the National Anthem at #SBLIV. See you in Miami.”

This will be the first time Lovato has ever performed at the annual celebration, which will also be entertained with a halftime show this year by co-headliners Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. Lovato’s latest performance gig places among previous Super Bowl National Anthem singers including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Jennifer Hudson, Pink, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and others. It is also the “Games” star’s second scheduled television performance of the New Year.

As previously reported, the Grammy-nominated artist recently announced her comeback performance at this year’s Grammy Awards on January 26. "I told you the next time you’d hear from me I’d be singing," Lovato revealed earlier this week, referring to her previous hints of her plans to release new material.

With her upcoming Grammys gig, Lovato will be marking her first performance since her near-fatal overdose in July 2018. In the months that followed the shocking episode, Lovato underwent rehab treatment and has remained sober as of late-2018.

Last we reported, in December, the superstar appeared to hint her new material would more or less address her side of events, presumably those that followed after she survived her near-death overdose, leaving fans with the ambiguous warning, "Don't believe the rumors."
