Last week, a South Carolina sheriff’s deputy collapsed from suspected fentanyl exposure after discovering a folded dollar bill containing the drug during a vehicle search.
Lieutenant Kristin Riddle was revived with Narcan by another officer on the scene before being taken to the hospital and later released.
This was the most severe fentanyl exposure case the department has seen and may result in additional charges for the suspect.
