The Wisconsin DOT released video of a fiery Interstate crash showing highway safety patroller Isaac Maisonet rescuing a woman from a burning vehicle. He forced open a jammed car door and helped the driver get to safety moments before flames fully engulfed the wreck. Maisonet’s actions earned him the Lawrence Fire Department’s rare Life-Saving Award, though he humbly says he was just doing what needed to be done.
