This may be the kindest thing I've ever seen. While responding to a loose animal call, Officer Samuel Lopez of the Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Police Department spent nearly two hours comforting an injured dog he found lying on the side of the road. Instead of waiting for animal control, he stayed with the frightened dog, sharing his lunch and offering water from his thermos while keeping the pup calm. When someone from the nonprofit rescue group PAWS arrived, he helped carry the dog into their vehicle so it could be taken to the veterinarian for care. The City of Murfreesboro later shared the story and bodycam footage, praising Lopez’s empathy and compassion as an example of true public service.
