WATCH: Cops Spend 45 Minutes Chasing Down An Emu

Guernsey County Sheriff’s deputies pursued a runaway emu for 45 minutes last Friday evening. Deputy Leggett and Deputy A. Daymut discovered the large bird wandering loose and attempted to capture it using various methods, including a snare that the emu kept pulling away from. The sheriff’s office noted “One can only imagine the confusion of passing drivers” as the chase unfolded in rural Ohio. The emu’s owner eventually arrived to retrieve what officials called the “unexpected escapee.” The sheriff’s office praised the deputies, stating they “handled the situation with skill and professionalism, proving they can tackle just about anything.”
