On Saturday, police in Slidell, Louisiana, were able to arrest a pair of shoplifters thanks to an assist from a good Samaritan. Officers say a female suspect shoplifted from a Dillard’s store and when confronted by police, ran and got into a vehicle driven by a second suspect. They then attempted to leave the area, but fortunately, a bystander helped by giving the pursuing officer a ride in her car, following the suspects until additional police arrived to stop them. Slidell Police Chief Daniel Seuzeneau thanked the helpful citizen, writing, “People like you are the reason why Slidell is a great place to live and work.” The department plans to honor the good Samaritan with a Citizenship Award.
