At Best Friends Animal Shelter in Cairo, Georgia, the cats are lounging in style thanks to one very crafty retiree. Curtis McIff has been turning leftover wood scraps into tiny Adirondack chairs and pint‑sized beds — more than 40 chairs and at least 10 beds so far.
These mini masterpieces now fill Colonel’s Barracks, where up to a hundred cats rest and recover before adoption. McIff donates every piece, maintains them, and still finds time to volunteer around the sanctuary. Staff say the cats love their cozy new hangouts… and honestly, who wouldn’t want a custom wooden recliner while waiting for a forever home?
