SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Get Ready to Run! After going virtual last year, the Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run will return this weekend for it’s 30th year.

Hundreds of people will take over the Talmadge Bridge on Saturday, Dec. 4 for what’s called the South’s “toughest bridge run.” Runners can choose the 5K, which is a single trip over the bridge, the 10K, which is two trips over the bridge, or the Double Pump, which is three trips over. There’s also aKid’s Runthat will happen on Friday at 6 p.m. that will start at the bottom of the hill on the outdoor lawn of Trustee’s and run to the finish line at the top to simulate running over the Bridge. The Kid’s Run is meant for children 7 and under.

The race starts on Hutchinson Island so participants can either park at the Savannah Convention Center, ride the Savannah Belles water ferry, or take our complimentary trolley shuttle from the Civic Center parking lot. Once runners finish, there will be a Post-Race Party celebration at the north end of the Savannah Civic Center (301 W Oglethorpe Avenue).

The Health & Wellness Expo will feature running and health-related vendors, merchandise sales and visitor information. Everyone is encouraged to stop by and pick up their registration packet on Friday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. inside the Trustees’ Garden (660 E Broughton Street).

The event will impact downtown traffic and some Chatham Area Transit bus operations along the race route. Several roads will be blocked off and some CAT buses will be rerouted and delayed.

CAT’s re-routes from the downtown Joe Murray River, Jr. Intermodal Center will begin as early as 6 a.m. The Savannah Belles Ferry will operate its regular schedule.

A list of the impacted routes and stops is posted below and can be foundonline here.
