Macklemore Reveals How He Convinced Kesha To Collab During iHeartFestival

Macklemore and Kesha debuted their new song, "Good Old Days," at our 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday (September 23), but it doesn't sound like the star-studded collab would have happened had the rapper not worked in some sweet talk.

"Kesha was in Seattle and she wanted to take a off day, and I talked her into coming into the studio. We made [the song] in a couple hours," the rapper told Billboard behind the scenes of the Sin City affair. As for how he sweet talked her into hanging out, well, Macklemore said it all comes down to "general cliches and heavy texting guilt trips."

Elsewhere in the interview, he shared his praise for the comeback kid. "She's incredible. She's just a beautiful soul. She's got a beautiful voice. She is just as much, if not more, a beautiful person than [anyone else]. She's been nothing but awesome to work with," he explained.

"Good Old Days" appears on Macklemore's new solo album, Gemini, which dropped on Friday and marks his first solo LP since 2005.
