At least 18 people were killed in the southeastern part of the country over the weekend by a severe storm that spun off tornadoes. Fourteen of those killed lost their lives in Georgia Sunday (January 22nd), half of them at a mobile home park that was hit by an apparent tornado. Four people died in Mississippi on Saturday. President Trump said yesterday that he'd spoken with Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, saying during an unrelated White House ceremony, "Tornadoes were vicious and powerful and strong, and they suffered greatly. So we'll be helping out the state of Georgia." There were no deaths in the Lowcountry or Coastal Empire but from Baxley to Albany it was quite a different story.
