Though he keeps talking about retirement, Barry Manilow releases a new album and new tour dates

Barry Manilow will release his latest album on April 21st, titled, This Is My Town: Songs Of New York. The album will, mix new original tracks with such "Big Apple" standards as a cover of the Drifters' "On Broadway," among others. The album's first single, "I Dig New York," is now available for download.

Manilow says that being a New Yorker was an impossible thing for him to shed: "When you come from New York, you are always a New Yorker -- even though I've lived on the West Coast for more years than I did in New York -- I still feel like New Yorker. I talk fast. I still have my Brooklyn accent, if I don't watch out. Y'know, I still feel like a New York guy, so this made sense. I've had this idea for years about doing a 'New York' album, but I just never got around to it. And this year I decided I'd give it a try."
