Some heroes wear capes, some wear a McDonald’s uniform. McDonald’s employee Pedro Viloria jumped through the restaurant’s drive-thru window to save an off-duty Miami-Dade police officer who had fallen ill behind the wheel of her vehicle with her two children in the backseat. Viloria was serving breakfast to the mom and police officer, but when her car never stopped at the window, he realized something was very wrong. When it became clear the woman’s foot was off the break, Viloria knew he had to move quickly, and made the decision to jump out the window and rush to the car. Coincidentally, a firefighter showed up to the McDonald’s around the same time, and was able to quickly respond to the scene. An off-duty paramedic in the scene’s vicinity also rushed to help — and within minutes, fire rescue was at the scene.
