SNL's Chris Katten eliminated from Dancing with the Stars: most of us didn't know he was in such rough shape

Dancing with the Stars said goodbye to Chris Kattan yesterday, marking the first elimination of Season 24. The two couples in jeopardy came down to Kattan and his pro partner Witney Carson, and fellow celebrity-pro pairing Charo and Keo Motsepe. Unfortunately, the first couple to be eliminated on week 2 of the reality dancing competition series was Kattan and Carson, who earned a 17/40 in week 1 (cha cha) and a 22/40 in week 2 (jazz). At the end of the show Chris made a reference to the fact that he had broken his neck and his back was in rough shape and made it sound like the TV show wasn't aware of it, though he said he made it clear.

After co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews announced that Kattan, 46, had been eliminated, he thanked Carson – and admitted that he was disappointed his personal story about breaking his neck hadn’t been shared earlier on.

Meanwhile, Dancing pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy sat out last night’s show because of an injury. The Season 18 DWTS champion sustained a calf injury during rehearsals on Friday with Heather Morris, a former backup dancer for Beyoncé and a star on Glee.

Meanwhile Charro felt badly about this and offered to take the loss to keep Chris in the show.
