Kimmel's wife Molly posts a heartwarming daddy/son picture

In a heartbreaking 13-minute monologue Monday night, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel shared the news that his newborn son required open-heart surgery.

Clips of the monologue went viral, with many noting not just the emotional tenor of his speech, but also the political implications of what he was saying.

  • William “Billy” Kimmel was born April 21st and three hours later, they found out he required surgery to fix a hole in his heart wall.
  • Tuesday morning, Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney tweeted a photo of her husband smiling down at Billy, who seems to be grinning right back. She wrote: “I am thankful to love and be loved by these two brave guys. Both criers.”
  • She’s not the only one tweeting about his monologue. Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama thanked him for bringing attention to the healthcare debate.
  • This past weekend Kimmel and his wife were able to bring Billy home to his big sister, Jane.
