What is happening on Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With The Stars wrapped up their semi-finals last night – and another shocking elimination was in store. This week, it was the Judge’s Challenge, which saw each of the show’s judges ask a couple for a specific task to perform in their dance. And then later in the night, each couple would dance again to a style they haven’t attempted yet.

Despite dancing two perfect routines last night, Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was eliminated. She will not continue on to the finals next week, despite being an early favorite to win the mirror ball trophy and scoring an 80 out of a possible 80 in the semifinals. Since eliminations are determined by a combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes, it is obvious Biles did not have a strong enough fan base. On social media, some questioned whether her remarks last week sealed her fate. “Smiling doesn’t win you gold medals,” she told host Tom Bergeron last week. The four semifinalists each danced two routines as judges and fans trimmed the field.

David and Lindsay were in jeopardy. The scores last night:

Biles joined Bonner Bolton, Nancy Kerrigan, Nick Viall, Heather Morris, Erika Jayne, Mr. T, Charo and Chris Kattan, who were eliminated in previous weeks.
