Miley Cyrus is making waves with her new song “Malibu” that was released this past week and has been hard at work promoting the beach-inspired single in New York City, popping up all over the NBC studios.
The special appearances started Tuesday night when Cyrus made a surprise visit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, jumping in unannounced during the host’s opening monologue. The singer announced that she’ll be taking over NBC shows all day long yesterday in support of the new single.
Dubbing it the Miley Malibu Takeover, Cyrus kicked off her day-long promo venture on the Today Show, working her magic in the control room and chatting with the whole Today cast, including Al Roker and Matt Lauer. She discussed her music and upcoming performance for the Today show’s Citi Concert Series, which will include the whole Cyrus clan. Miley also appeared on a cute segment with the Today co-anchors featuring Charlie the puppy.
Later last night, appearing for the second night in a row, Cyrus disguised herself as Hashtag The Panda on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Cyrus’ single “Malibu” was released on May 11th as the first single off her upcoming sixth studio album. Cyrus is set to perform the song at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21st.
