Longtime host Ryan Seacrest’s talks with American Idol have reportedly stalled after he was offered less than half of what Kary Perry got to join the rebooted show.
Seacrest hosted Idol for 15 seasons on Fox but has not yet signed on for the ABC reboot after getting an offer of $10 million to come back, Variety reports.
- While that’s certainly a hearty offer, Perry received a reported $25 million to come on board as judge. According to TMZ, Seacrest took home $15 million for his hosting post previously.
- Perry recently crowed about getting more than anyone else, telling 103.5 KTU: "I'm really proud that, as a woman, I got paid. And you know why? I got paid like more than like pretty much any guy that's been on that show."
- As of now, Perry is the only major talent to have signed on the dotted line for the reboot.
