WATCH: She wasn't having a panic attack on the plane, she was having a baby

Giving birth on an airplane is probably not the most comfortable situation, but 35-year-old Cristina Penton had no choice. She was flying on Spirit Airlines from Fort Lauderdale to Texas when she thought she was having a panic attack. The Phoenix woman, who was 36-weeks-pregnant, alerted flight attendants but soon realized the stomach pains she felt were contractions - and they were getting faster and stronger. The pilot began to divert to New Orleans so she could deliver in the hospital, but with the help of a pediatric nurse who happened to be on board, Penton gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Christoph just a half an hour later. In the remarkable video of the mid-air birth, other passengers erupted into applause when she delivered the 19-inch-tall baby, with some saying the child just 'shot out'
