"Mamma Mia" sequel coming next summer

A decade after ABBA's music once again enchanted the world, it's likely to happen all over again with the upcoming musical feature, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. The followup to the 2008 Meryl Streep big screen hit will be released on July 20th, 2018 and once again feature Streep, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth -- along with Baby Driver star Lily James. Vintage Vinyl News reported, the movie's "writing and directing is being handled by Ol Parker who previously wrote both The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and directed Now Is Good and Imagine Me And You. Production is by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman with ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (pronounced Byorn OOL-vase) as executive producers."

The new feature will include both songs already used in the Mamma Mia! soundtrack, along with other songs from the ABBA catalogue. To date, the original film has grossed over $143 million at U.S. box offices alone.
