Justin Bieber was leaving a Hillsong Church event Wednesday night at The City Church in Beverly Hills when he ran into a 57-year-old paparazzo Maurice Lamont. The event happened at around 9:30 p.m. and police confirmed that the truck was moving at an “extremely slow speed.”
“Bieber got out of the car and attempted to render aid” after the collision Beverly Hills Police Department Sergeant Matthew Stout said. He added Bieber “remained on scene, co-operated with officers and was released.” The injured photographer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. TMZ obtained footage of the incident, which contains some explicit language.
Yesterday, Lamont gave his version of events via Instagram, straight from his hospital bed. “Hour before my birthday hits, I get ran over by Justin Bieber,” Lamont mused. “Isn’t that something? He’s a good kid, though. I think the truck was a little bit too big for him, though, because there’s no way he could see over the front – it was the slope it was on. But like I said, he got out, he was compassionate, he’s a good kid, accidents happen.”
The minor accident comes after the singer canceled the remaining dates on his Purpose World Tour.
