Video shows Good Samaritan take the gun from robber on Chicago train

On Sunday morning in Chicago, a guy from Boston was on the train and heard someone was showing passengers a gun and demanding their money. So Jean-Paul LaPierre confronted the robber and the pair started fighting for the gun. LaPierre managed to pry the gun away from the man and was holding onto it with his right hand while maintaining a firm grip on the robber with his left.

… LaPierre said another man on the train offer to take the gun out of his hand and flip the safety, so he allowed the man to do that. LaPierre then turned his attention back to the robber, saying, “If you move I’m going to knock you out. I’m going to hit you seven times in three seconds.” After that, the robber calmed down and waited for the police. Officers told the man to get on his stomach, but when he instead laid on his back, LaPierre ran to him and “flipped him over like a hamburger” so police could cuff him.

… LaPierre, who said he was in town to run the Chicago marathon, said it wasn’t the first time he’s stepped into the role of Good Samaritan. He said he helped rescue a boy from a vehicle crash in Boston a few years ago, and tracked down a missing python in Newton, Massachusetts.
