Police in California responded after people called in after spotting a car on the highway Saturday (January 11th) that had a girl in the backseat holding a handwritten sign reading, "HELP ME SHE'S NOT MY MOM!! HELP!!" Officers pulled over the car, but determined the whole thing had been a hoax. They posted about the whole debacle on social media, noting that, "This is a reminder that parents need to be aware of what their children are doing in the back seat at all times." No word on how old the child was. But she may not live to see her next birthday!
