UPDATE: Of the six California families who took summer trips to Afghanistan to see extended families, we understand that the El Cajon (San Diego area) school district working with Congressman Issa are in touch with them. ORIGINAL POST: Nearly two dozen students from El Cajon were stuck in Afghanistan as of Tuesday night trying to get back to the United States. Their school district said it’s pitching in to help them and their families any way that it can. What should have been a simple trip to visit relatives over the summer, has turned into an alarming and uncertain situation for the students as they negotiate their way back to the U.S.
