The CEO of Spanx gave her employees a really big gift last week to celebrate the shapewear company now being worth $1.2 billion. Sara Blakely, who founded Spanx in 2000 with just $5,000, gave each of her more than 500 employees double that, $10,000, as well as two first-class plane tickets to anywhere in the world. Blakely shared video of the announcement on Instagram, including employees' shocked and elated reactions, writing in the caption, "I really want every employee to celebrate this moment in their own way and create a memory that will last them a lifetime." The $1.2 billion valuation was the result of investment firm Blackstone buying a majority stake in Spanx last week.
