A 71-year-old Vietnam War veteran whose Purple Heart was stolen out of his home in 1983 has been reunited with it after it was spotted at a yard sale. Gus Albritton earned three Purple Hearts for his service in Vietnam, but one was stolen 38 years ago while he was living in Florida. He reported the incident, but believed he'd probably never see it. Nearly four decades later, Jamie Bath of Florida came across the Purple Heart at a yard sale. He knew what the medal meant and decided to try to identify the owner. Bath said, "[I] know there are various websites where you can trace the owners of them and give them back, and I figured it was the right thing to do." Albritton was reunited with the Purple Heart when Bath sent it to him in the mail. He said, "It's taken quite a journey you might say, but it's good to have it back.
