A substitute teacher in Texas was asked to leave the school after the first period after he sang Britney Spears' song, "Toxic," in front of a classroom of students on a karaoke machine that also put on a light show. Unsurprisingly, students in the class at Bowie High School in the Austin Independent School District recorded video of it. A representative for the district said the teacher was asked to leave early because he, quote, "wasn't following [the district's] best practices." In a more humorous comment, a spokesperson for the district said, "I’ve heard worse Britney Spears covers, but the lights are a bit much." It doesn't seem to have hurt the substitute teacher's career though, as he picked up another job at another Austin high school after the incident.
