An off-Broadway play titled Perfect Crime had to cancel some performances after someone stole the copper pipes from the theater’s basement. The general manager for the Theater Center in New York City said she discovered the pipes were missing Friday (January 21st) when the water and heat in the building failed to work. She then found a door in the basement had been shattered and there were bullet casings on the floor. She said security cameras caught another attempted break-in on Sunday (January 23rd). The theater had to cancel about 12 performances between Perfect Crime and The Office: A Musical Parody, another show performed at the same venue. So far there have been no arrests connected to the theft, and damages are estimated at $20,000.
