General Motors President Mark Reuss announced Monday (April 25th) that they will produce a fully electric version of its classic Chevrolet Corvette, sharing the news in a LinkedIn post. Reuss didn't say when the electric Corvette would be available, but suggested a hybrid model of the sports car could be out relatively soon. He wrote, "We will offer an electrified Corvette as early as next year," and an accompanying video on Twitter showed what appeared to be a hybrid Corvette. "Electrified" can mean everything from hybrid to full electric vehicles. CNN writes that most all-electric vehicles in production so far have been sedans and SUVs, as having batteries lends itself to larger and heavier vehicles. But several companies are working on electric sports cars. GM has said it plans to produce only zero-emission vehicles by 2035
