A California woman resisted temptation when she found $36,000 in cash hidden in a couch she picked up for free on Craiglist and returned the money. Vicky Umodu of San Bernardino County really proved her honesty, since no-one knew the money was in the couch. Local station ABC7 reports that the couch, along with another matching couch and a chair, were being given away by a family after the death of a relative who'd owned them. Umodo said she found several envelopes stuffed with cash in the couch after noticing one of the cushions was a little lumpy, and that it never occurred to her to keep the money. The family rewarded her honesty, giving her $2,200.
